LASER THERAPY CAN RELIEVE PAIN, REDUCE SWELLING AND INCREASE RANGE OF MOTION!

What is Laser Therapy?

Class IV laser therapy with the Platinum Series laser by K-Laser USA delivers specific red and near infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a therapeutic effect within the body. These include, but are not limited to, increased circulation, decreased swelling, reduction of pain and enhanced tissue repair. Laser therapy has been in use for over 35 years and also as of 2002  has been cleared by the FDA.

Laser Therapeutic Effects?

During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation by drawing water, oxygen and other nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, spasm, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved. At the cellular level, metabolic activity increases within the cell by improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane. This initiates the increased production of cellular energy (ATP) that leads to improved cellular health and recovery.

Are there any side effects?

There are very few side effects associated with laser therapy. Occasionally some old injuries, or pain syndromes, may feel aggravated for a few days, as the healing response is more active after treatment.

What does the treatment feel like?

There is little to no sensation during the treatments. Areas of high inflammation and tension may experience increased warmth under the laser wand but this is the extent of any discomfort.

How often should I receive laser therapy and how many visits should I expect?

Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatments are received 2-3 times a week. Acute conditions typically take 4-6 visits to experience some resolution for the injury, while chronic conditions may take anywhere from 6-12 (or more) to get the benefits desired.

A typical laser therapy treatment consists of?

Typically the treatment session will last 5-15 minutes per region treated depending on the severity of the issue. Safety glasses are worn during the treatments to prevent any exposure to the eyes. The laser wand is used directly on the skin and not through clothing as to enhance the effects.
